VGFlex

Mobile and flexible service for VGF customers

Whether it’s in the VGF TicketCenters, the stations and trains, the VGF InfoBus or at one of our InfoPoints: VGF service staff are always on hand to answer questions about public transport and VGF services every day. Since the summer of 2021, they have been even more mobile, flexible and faster in their response whenever information is needed thanks to the use of an electrically powered cargo bike, VGFlex is, therefore, the name of the environmentally friendly new addition to the VGF fleet, which emerged from an internal ideas competition.

The electrically powered cargo bike produces no exhaust fumes, it doesn’t get stuck in traffic jams because the e-bike is allowed to ride on cycle paths, and, thanks to its eye-catching design that sports the VGF colours, it cannot be overlooked in those places where it puts in an appearance.

The cargo bike from the Berlin-based manufacturer ONOMOTION has a rechargeable battery that permits a range of use of up to 30 kilometres. The removable container has a volume of 2 m³ and is used for information material.

The VGF service team visits customers with the mobile information and service point and can, for example, provide details concerning alternative routes before the start of (and during) construction work. Even in the case of unscheduled interruptions, the service team can quickly be at stops that do not yet have digital passenger information displays thanks to the flexible cargo bike.

Like the VGF Infobus, the VGFlex is used on certain days at central locations in Frankfurt, see weekly overview.
